I needed a casual lace edging for a challah cover – so I scoured vintage patterns, found one I liked, and then promptly dissected it, rearranged it, changed techniques, added rows, removed rows, and basically made it something new.

N/A – seriously. It’s a lace edging! Use whatever yarn and needle combination gives you a fabric you like.

YO – Yarn Over

K – Knit

P – Purl

K2tog – Knit 2 Together

SSK – Slip, Slip, Knit

CDD – Centered Double Decrease

BEY – Bunny Ears Yarnover

S1 – Slip 1 purlwise, with yarn in back

Yarn in the weight you want

Needle (1 circular, or 2 straight) in the size that gives you a fabric you like with your yarn.
